Custom Media Creates Etihad Airways’ LINE Account for Japan

Custom Media is excited to announce a collaboration with Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), to unveil a new Japanese-language LINE account. This launch marks the first time a Middle Eastern airline has created a dedicated LINE service tailored specifically for Japanese travelers.

The Custom Media team worked closely with Etihad Airways to craft an interactive LINE experience that brings a range of exclusive features right to their Japanese guests’ fingertips. From real-time travel updates and priority offers, to exclusive content such as monthly wallpapers, travelers can stay up-to-date and be endlessly entertained.

LINE is Japan’s largest social network, used by more than 70% of the population and with 96 million users in Japan at the start of 2024. The widely-used platform has gradually expanded to become a super-app that provides a variety of services, including a digital wallet, news stream, video on demand and digital comic distribution.

Robert Heldt, CEO of Custom Media, said: “We’re thrilled to partner with Etihad Airways to launch their LINE social media channel, bringing innovative digital engagement to the forefront of their guest experience. This collaboration marks a significant step in transforming how the airline connects with its Japanese guests, offering personalized and real-time interactions that embodies Etihad Airways’ reputation for excellence and attention to detail.”

Guests can connect with Etihad Airways’ LINE account by scanning the QR code on Etihad’s website, visiting the LINE page or by searching for the official handle: @etihadjapan. More information about the official launch in the Japanese press can be found on travel sites Traicy and Travel Voice.

This is just the beginning of an innovative collaboration between Etihad Airways and Custom Media. Additional features are currently in the works as part of a broader digital strategy to engage with more travelers. Stay tuned to see what else is in store for this exciting partnership.
