July 15, 2019 (TOKYO)—Custom Media K.K. is delighted to announce that it has joined Advertising & Marketing Independent Network (AMIN) Worldwide, a global alliance of more than 50 independent marketing agencies. Custom Media is the first agency in Japan to join the network, helping AMIN extend its reach in the Asia-Pacific region.

As the third-largest economy in the world, Japan offers a broad range of exciting opportunities in multiple sectors. The country has a unique media environment, driven by a diverse variety of trends, some Japan-specific and others global.

“We are very happy to welcome Custom Media as the newest member of AMIN,” said Phil Huzzard. “Adding them to our network adds an impressive synergy. Custom Media’s strength in Japan helps us develop further in the Asia-Pacific region, and we can, in turn, assist Custom Media to extend its global reach.”

Custom Media helps foreign companies of all sizes and industries enter and expand in the Japanese market. The Tokyo-based agency specializes in digital integrated marketing, content creation and strategic communications. Their client list includes Mori Building, one of Japan’s largest mixed-use property developers; multiple-award-winning Etihad Airways; Conrad Tokyo, a leading luxury hotel; Mitsubishi Heavy Industries; the American and British chambers of commerce in Japan; and the exclusive Tokyo American Club.

“For Custom Media, joining AMIN marks a major milestone for the company, and I couldn’t be prouder,” said Robert Heldt, president and co-founder of Custom Media. “Japan is in the global spotlight, and it is increasingly welcoming record numbers of tourists. More records are expected to be broken, thanks to the 2019 Rugby World Cup and 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.”

Custom Media predicts that global brands seeking to enter or expand in the complex Japanese market will be encouraged by the recent free-trade agreement with the EU, as well as the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership, and a potential bilateral deal with the United States.

“Being able to harness AMIN’s global reach and expertise will help us approach an even broader range of clients while we continue to build on our considerable success in the Japanese market. We look forward to having access to AMIN’s extensive knowledge base of global market insights,” said Heldt.

AMIN member agencies are independently owned but collaborate to meet challenges, from connecting with new clients and growing into global markets to building stronger brands and giving access to local insights.
