Establishing a strong brand identity for sustainability advocacy

CAJ required a compelling brand identity and robust digital presence to effectively communicate its mission to Japan. As a newly established nonprofit organization in the Japanese market, they needed key decision-makers to make meaningful connections with industry leaders and develop a robust brand strategy that would give the Japanese market, especially as they engage with top-listed companies and investor relations teams. To create a robust brand identity for CAJ, we designed a logo that encapsulated CAJ’s focus on corporate responsibility and sustainability. The logo incorporated key natural elements—sun, water and earth—to reflect CAJ’s commitment to environmental stewardship and long-term ESG goals. We also developed CAJ’s corporate branding guidelines, ensuring a consistent brand identity that communicated their mission in a clear and creative way. We have continued to work with them to keep the guidelines current, ensuring that they reflect evolving industry standards and trends while maintaining alignment with CAJ’s strategic objectives and core values.
Using the new logo and branding guidelines, we developed a range of materials including branded stationery, presentation slides and, last but not least, business cards—a must-have in Japan. Additionally, we created a virtual background and a large physical backdrop for press and publicity events. These assets helped CAJ establish a professional and cohesive identity in all its communications.

Custom Media then built a bilingual WordPress website that was not only visually appealing but also user-friendly, allowing CAJ’s team to autonomously update content as they continued to grow. The website clearly communicates CAJ’s mission, services and impact, with content developed from stakeholder interviews conducted by our team.
